The Sisters of Charity Health System has announced a $3 million funding commitment to support the development of a Behavioral Health Crisis Center (BHCC) led by The Centers. The funding announcement marks a landmark investment in the behavioral health infrastructure of Cuyahoga County and a commitment to create a crisis receiving and stabilization center in Cleveland’s Central neighborhood to support individuals experiencing a mental health and/or addiction emergency.…
Joseph & Mary’s Home supporters came together on March 19 to celebrate the Feast of St. Joseph, foster father of Jesus and husband of Mary. Mass was celebrated in the Holy Family Chapel at fellow Sisters of Charity Health System ministry Regina Health Center. Deacon Mark Yantek, executive director of Regina Health Center, delivered the homily. “Just like St. Joseph said yes to doing God’s will, the Sisters of Charity of St. Augustine said yes to God when they established Joseph & Mary’s Home,” he said. “They knew God was calling them to fulfill a need.”…
Joseph & Mary’s Home announced that Anna Stormer has been named its next executive director. She began her role on Tuesday, March 10. Stormer will oversee strategy, operations and program excellence at Joseph & Mary’s Home, a medical respite for men and women experiencing both homelessness and acute health challenges. Her focus will be on ensuring vulnerable neighbors have a safe place to recover, stabilize their health and move forward with dignity.…

Regina Health Center has once again earned the highest rating in the federal Five-Star Quality Rating System of nursing homes from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). The five-star level signifies “much above average” quality and is the highest rating a nursing home can achieve. Regina Health Center also received a five-star rating in health inspections.…
The Sisters of Charity of St. Augustine, who are celebrating their 175th year of service to the diocese, received the Bishop Roger Gries Heart of a Servant Award at the First Friday Club of Cleveland’s 68th Anniversary Bishop’s Luncheon on February 5. With a heavy heart, we share the sad news that Sister Miriam Erb, CSA, vice president of Mission & Ministry at the St. Vincent Charity Health & Healing Hub, passed into the loving arms of the Lord on December 27. She entered the Sisters of Charity of St. Augustine on August 30, 1957, and professed final vows on August 22, 1965. For nearly 70 years, she embodied the charism of her religious community and was a radiant example of God’s loving spirit. A true beacon of hope, justice and love, Sr. Miriam’s joyful spirit illuminated every community she served with the light of God’s mercy and grace.…

The Sisters of Charity Foundation of South Carolina recently launched its new 2026–2028 Strategic Plan. Through careful listening, reflection, research and discernment, the foundation team has been working diligently on this plan development for more than a year. This new plan calls the foundation to work in systems change, leaning into three focus areas: economic mobility, housing security and health care. In order to truly alleviate poverty across South Carolina, the foundation believes in challenging the systems that perpetuate cycles of poverty.…
Thanks to supportive community members, a brand-new garden for the Cleveland Central Promise Neighborhood is in the works at Marion-Sterling Elementary School on Central Avenue and East 30th Street. The garden – which was relocated from East 76th Street and Cedar Avenue – will be incorporated into classroom lessons, after-school activities and eventually, summer programming.…
