Regina Health Center among best in Ohio for assisted living and nursing home resident satisfaction

Regina Health Center (RHC) received among the highest marks in Ohio in the most recent biennial resident satisfaction surveys for nursing and assisted living facilities from the Ohio Department of Aging (ODA). RHC scored in the top 1 percent of all Ohio assisted living facilities in the ODA resident satisfaction survey. With a score of 96.26 out of 100, Regina Health Center ranked ninth statewide and number two in Northeast Ohio—as reported by The Plain Dealer.

On the skilled nursing side, RHC achieved similar high scores in the counterpart survey for nursing homes. RHC was in the top 2 percent in the ODA resident satisfaction survey for assisted living. With a score of 90.30 out of 100, RHC ranked 23rd statewide and number three in Northeast Ohio for resident satisfaction—also reported by The Plain Dealer.

“We can say we provide exceptional care, but it’s the opinions of our residents that matter the most,” said Yantek. “On the assisted living side, we rank in the top 1 percent of all facilities in Ohio for resident satisfaction. On the nursing side, we rank in the top 2 percent. Knowing our residents are so happy means we’re truly providing person-centered care that leads to a higher quality of life.”

ODA’s biannual resident satisfaction surveys are conducted by an independent research group. The surveys provide information about facilities from the perspective of residents and their families. The Plain Dealer used the survey-rankings, released this summer, to find the top 25 nursing homes and assisted-living facilities in Northeast Ohio.

Deficiency-Free Surveys
RHC’s Assisted Living also recently received a deficiency-free survey from the ODH, which marked the ninth year in a row the ministry has received this perfect rating. On the skilled nursing side, RHC also received an ODH deficiency-free survey earlier this year after meeting hundreds of federal and state health and safety standards to achieve a perfect survey.

A 5-Star Facility
Regina Health Center is also rated as a five-star facility by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, which is a rating only a small percent of all nursing homes in Ohio receive, and was named one of the best nursing homes in the nation by U.S. News and World Report for 2017-18.

Regina Health Center is a ministry of the Sisters of Charity Health System.
