Statement on the death of The Most Reverend George V. Murry, S.J., fifth bishop of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Youngstown
On behalf of the Sisters of Charity Health System, we were deeply saddened to learn this morning that The Most Rev. George V. Murry, S.J., bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Youngstown, has entered eternal life. God has called him home. The Diocese of Youngstown has shared that more details are forthcoming. We extend our deepest sympathies to the many lives touched by Bishop Murry and our Sisters’ prayers are with the Catholic Diocese of Youngstown. As we remember Bishop Murry, we celebrate a Jesuit life lived serving with compassion and courage, and who cared deeply about the Diocesan community. His passing is a tremendous loss to the Church and the people of the Diocese of Youngstown. May he live in eternal rest and peace grant unto him O Lord, and may perpetual light shine upon him. We thank our God for Bishop Murry.
