Independent Physician Solutions

Independent Physician Solutions offers Northeast Ohio independent physicians a continuum of services, including revenue cycle management, electronic medical records (EMR), managed care contracting, professional liability insurance and a suite of a la carte consulting services for practice operations and financial management, such as employee benefits and practice management.

Established by the Sisters of Charity Health System in 2010, Independent Physician Solutions is a for-profit subsidiary of St. Vincent Charity Medical Center. Responsibility for back-office functions and personnel charged with billing, EMR training and help desk support are managed by Medic Management LLC, an experienced and leading provider of management, operational and financial health care consulting services to private practices and hospital-employed and affiliated physicians.

Through a unique market arrangement with GE Healthcare, Independent Physician Solutions offers General Electric’s Centricity® Practice Solution. The technology positions independent medical practitioners to demonstrate meaningful use in order to receive federal incentives as well as provide them with efficiencies and other benefits of practicing in an electronic environment.

Independent Physician Solutions allows independent medical practitioners to maintain independence while keeping pace with larger, affiliated practices and meeting the new technology requirements mandated under the Affordable Care Act.

Health system ministries in Stark County part of collaborative to help families at risk for infant mortality

Toward Health Resiliency for Infant Vitality & Equity (THRIVE) in Stark County, Ohio, works to determine the factors that lead to infant mortality in the Canton community and reduce the overall infant mortality rate as well as the disparity in birth outcomes relative to white and black infants. The Sisters of Charity Foundation of Canton is a funder of the program and the Early Childhood Resource Center is a community partner/referring agency for the program. Sisters of Charity Foundation of Cleveland part of Sisters on the Frontlines collaborative that receives national recognition

The Sisters of Charity Foundation of Cleveland is part of a collaborative working to share relief grants with Catholic sisters serving individuals and families affected by COVID-19. The Sisters on the Frontlines initiative led by FADICA, GHR Foundation and others, inspired a second pilot program in Northeast Ohio, with $1,000 grants for more than 60 sisters in congregations across the Cleveland, Akron and Youngstown areas. Global Sisters Report, an online publication of National Catholic Reporter, highlighted the initiative and featured foundation senior program officer Margaret Eigsti in a recent story.[More]
