Sisters of Charity Foundation of Cleveland president co-chairs Cleveland schools' scholarship luncheon

The Cleveland Metropolitan School District (CMSD) recently held its 8th annual Army of Believers Scholarship Luncheon in downtown Cleveland to assist CMSD graduating seniors with scholarships to college. Susanna Krey, president of the Sisters of Charity Foundation of Cleveland and senior vice president of the Sisters of Charity Health System, served as the event’s honorary co-chair.

Beginning with its inception in 2007, the Army of Believers Scholarship plays a significant role in both increasing and improving educational opportunities and choices for CMSD students. When school, community and business leaders gathered for this year’s annual scholarship luncheon, they did more than honor the ‘Five-Star Generals” among their growing list of donors, they celebrated the success of the scholarship event and the roles they played in inspiring a growing number of CMSD students to graduate and transition to college.

“As a foundation focused on addressing the root causes of poverty, the Sisters of Charity Foundation knows well the impact a college degree has on a young adult’s ability to break the cycle of poverty,” Krey said. “This event is important to me personally because I love that it raises funds for Cleveland high school students who are transitioning into college.”

The Sisters of Charity Foundation of Cleveland is a ministry of the Sisters of Charity Health System.
