Sisters of Charity Foundation of Cleveland hosting event to celebrate Catholic sisters

National Catholic Sisters Week (NCSW) runs from March 8-14 and the Sisters of Charity Foundation of Cleveland is helping celebrate through involvement with the “Celebrate Catholic Sisters: Turning to Each Other” event March 10 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Magnificat High School, 20770 Hilliard Boulevard, Rocky River, Ohio. The intercongregational, intergenerational event is open the public and will celebrate the contributions of women religious in the community and explore news ways for Catholic sisters and lay partners to be companions to one another.

The annual NCSW celebration, held in conjunction with National Women's History Month, was created to honor and celebrate the lives, legacies and vital contributions of Catholic sisters.

The Sisters of Charity Foundation of Cleveland is committed to sharing the voices and stories of Catholic sisters and their ministries in Northeast Ohio. The foundation is hosting the March 10 event in collaboration with the Coalition with Young Adults (CYA) and the Conference of Religious Leadership (CORL).

CYA is an intergenerational Catholic network that supports ministries with and for young adults in their 20s and 30s in Northeast Ohio. CYA works to connect young adults to spiritual, service, sports and social opportunities. Through electronic and in-person networking, CYA reaches more than 1,500 young adults in Northeast Ohio.

CORL is an association that brings together approximately 30 leaders of the women religious congregations in the greater Cleveland/Akron/Youngstown area on a quarterly basis. CORL’s work focuses on collaboration and communication among religious congregations.

The event is open to all. Women religious, associates of the congregations and young adults (in their 20s and 30s) are encouraged to attend.

The event is free through a grant from National Catholic Sisters Week. RSVP through Eventbrite or by emailing coalitionyoungadults@gmail.com.
