Light of Hearts Villa launches memory care capital campaign

Light of Hearts Villa recently launched its Forever Remember Campaign, a plan to raise funds toward an $850,000 project to greatly improve it Lumen Lane Memory Care Unit and to enhance programming for residents with memory disorders. To put the Light of Hearts Villa facilities on par with its standard of excellent care, more than $1.5 million has been invested in campus improvements over the past several years. Even with these great strides, there are still areas where it would be beneficial to expand services, improve the care environment and enhance the overall quality of life for residents. [More]

Sisters visit Regina Health Center and Light of Hearts Villa with "care caravan"

Annual #WeGiveCatholic online crowdfunding event happens December 3

Several ministries of the Sisters of Charity Health System will be participating in the annual online day of Catholic giving in Northeast Ohio. The event is called #weGiveCatholic and happens Tuesday, December 3, which is Giving Tuesday—a national day of giving for nonprofits. By designating St. Vincent Charity Medical Center, Joseph’s Home, Regina Health Center and Light of Hearts Villa, any gifts you contribute will benefit these ministries directly and place them in the running to receive cash prizes and secure matching gifts. Sister Helen Therese Scasny, SC, and her community of bees raise money for Light of Hearts Villa fund

Sister Helen Therese Scasny, SC, began beekeeping in 2013 on the property of the Sisters of Charity of Cincinnati home in Bedford, Ohio, not far from Light of Hearts of Villa. She gives profits from sales of honey to the Sr. Helen Scasny, SC, Benevolent Fund at Light of Hearts Villa, which assists residents who have outlived their financial recourses. [More]

Breanne Cavileer named executive director of Light of Hearts Villa

The boards and leadership of the Sisters of Charity Health System and Light of Hearts Villa have named Breanne Cavileer as the executive director of Light of Hearts Villa. The hiring of Cavileer follows the retirement of former Executive Director Elizabeth (Betty) Hickle in October. Cavileer is a licensed nursing home administrator (LNHA) and certified dementia practitioner with more than a decade of experience leading skilled nursing and assisted living facilities. [More]
