Comprehensive Addiction Recovery Services
Intensive Outpatient Programming (IOP)
IOP gives individuals the tools and community they need to practice real-life recovery while balancing work, school or family. With flexible scheduling and compassionate care, IOP helps patients build strength, resilience and long-term sobriety. Every patient receives a comprehensive, individualized treatment plan based on a treatment assessment. These plans combine cutting-edge, evidence-based therapies with compassionate, faith-informed guidance to support whole-person recovery.
Structured Weekly Schedule:
- First Five Weeks: Daytime option of four group sessions per week or evening option of three days per week, each lasting three hours, supplemented by individual counseling sessions.
- Following Phase (8–12 Weeks): One weekly aftercare group session lasting 1.5 hours.
Note: Successful graduation requires attending no less than 25 sessions in either the day or evening offerings. Throughout both phases, clients are required to attend AA meetings and undergo weekly drug testing.
Aftercare and Ongoing Support
Finishing IOP is a major milestone in recovery, but it’s not the end of the journey. Ongoing support is essential to maintaining sobriety, preventing relapse and building a healthier future. Our aftercare program is designed to provide structure, encouragement and resources long after IOP is complete. Weekly aftercare groups create a safe space to share progress, challenges and victories with others walking a similar path.
Individual Counseling
For those who benefit from one-on-one support during IOP, counseling is available to address personal challenges to ensure IOP can be successfully completed.
Medication Assisted Therapy (MAT)
MAT combines safe, FDA-approved medications (options such as Vivitrol, Suboxone and Sublocade) with therapy and support to reduce cravings, prevent relapse and build lasting recovery.

A Storied History of Treating Addiction
Prior to founding Rosary Hall at St. Vincent Charity in 1952, Sister Ignatia Gavin, a member of the Sisters of Charity of St. Augustine, worked closely with Bill Wilson and Dr. Robert Smith, founders of Alcoholics Anonymous (AA), at Akron’s St. Thomas Hospital. She was fondly referred to as the “angel of Alcoholics Anonymous.” Sr. Ignatia was a pioneer in treating alcoholism as a disease rather than a moral failing and was instrumental in establishing the first hospital treatment for alcoholics in the nation. During her tenure at Rosary Hall from 1952 to 1965, Sr. Ignatia treated more than 15,000 individuals and supported over 60,000 family members on their loved ones’ journeys to sobriety. Since that time, Rosary Hall has provided continuous care, treatment and hope to over 100,000 drug and alcohol dependent adult men and women suffering from the disease of addiction.
