Sisters of Charity Foundation of Cleveland celebrating Catholic sisters in Northeast Ohio

National Catholic Sisters Week (NCSW) runs from March 8-14 and the Sisters of Charity Foundation of Cleveland is helping celebrate through involvement with “A Sister to All” event March 12 from 1:00 to 3:30 p.m. at Mount Augustine at 5232 Broadview Road in Richfield, Ohio. The intergenerational event is open the public and is around the topic “Race & Grace – Let’s Talk About It.”

With the support of National Catholic Sisters Week, the Conrad Hilton Foundation, and St. Catherine University, the Conference of Religious Leadership (CORL) and the Coalition with Young Adults (CYA) look forward to shining a spotlight on the impact of Catholic sisters in Northeast Ohio.

CORL is an association that brings together approximately 30 leaders of the women religious congregations in the greater Cleveland/Akron/Youngstown area on a quarterly basis. CORL’s work focuses on collaboration and communication among religious congregations.

CYA is an intergenerational Catholic network that supports ministries with and for young adults in their 20s and 30s in Northeast Ohio. CYA works to connect young adults to spiritual, service, sports and social opportunities. Through electronic and in-person networking, CYA reaches more than 1,500 young adults in Northeast Ohio.

The NCSW gathering and dialogue on race will be open to all. Women religious, associates of the congregations and young adults (ages 21-35) are encouraged to attend. The event is being held at Mount Augustine, which is the motherhouse of the Sisters of Charity of St. Augustine. The event site includes a full display of the “Progress and Promise” exhibit, which illustrates the congregational histories of local women religious.

RSVP through Eventbrite or by emailing coalitionyoungadults@gmail.com.

About National Catholic Sisters Week
NCSW is an annual celebration that takes place from March 8–14. Created to honor women religious, it is a series of events that instruct, enlighten and bring greater focus to the lives of these incredible women. It’s our chance to recognize all they have done for us. It’s also our hope that as more young women learn about women religious, more will choose to follow their example.
