Catholic Community Connection annual report highlights a year of strategic activities

Catholic Community Connection, an organization dedicated to fostering collaboration among Catholic-sponsored education, health care, human services and senior living ministries in the Diocese of Cleveland, recently released its 2015 annual report.

The report summarizes major activities Catholic Community Connection (CCC) accomplished in four strategic areas over the past two years. These activities included:

• Organizing membership and administrative structure—CCC has re-engaged partner organizations through a systematic focus on genuine needs and practical means of collaboration, and added a new partner organization, Rose-Mary Center. CCC revised and updated articles of incorporation and code of regulations that now govern the organization. CCC also created a new position to add a communications associate to its staff.
• Creating access and awareness—with the communications associate position filled, CCC rebranded itself with a new logo, a redesigned website and updated social media accounts. The community outreach committee refocused its efforts toward sharing ideas and resources, and helping spread the word about various Catholic ministries.
• Promoting intergenerational opportunities— held a successful Building Community forum, bringing together Catholic institutions of higher education and Catholic service providers – with a goal of creating engaging volunteer, service learning and internship opportunities for local college students in Catholic ministries. Supported by the Sisters of Charity Foundation of Cleveland, CCC held four “Converging Conversations,” groups that offered ideas to further focus its intergenerational and Catholic mission and identity work.
• Using group purchasing to further collaborative work—CCC continues to extend its group purchasing program to other Catholic ministries.

The Sisters of Charity Health System provides shared sponsorship for Catholic Community Connection with Catholic Charities in collaboration with Catholic senior living, education and social services.
