South Carolina Center for Fathers and Families programs exceed enrollment goal

September 2016 marked the beginning of year two of grant funding for the South Carolina Center for Fathers and Families from the Department of Health and Human Services, Administration for Children and Families Grant, with the goal to recruit 500 voluntary participants into fatherhood programs statewide. The center and its multiple fatherhood programs exceeded that goal with 553 voluntary participants enrolled between Sept. 30, 2016 and Sept. 29, 2017. [More]

The Upstate Fatherhood Coalition, which is a program of the South Carolina Center for Fathers and Families, has been awarded a $661,200 grant from Greenville Health System. The South Carolina Center for Fathers and Families is partnering with SC Campaign to Prevent Teen Pregnancy to give audiences a first-hand look at the choices and challenges that young fathers face. The center is producing a documentary that will show three young fathers from its local fatherhood programs in their daily lives as they deal with the experiences associated with being an unwed father at an early age.
