Sisters of Charity Health System shares video annual report to the community

Sister Judith Ann Karam, CSA, president and CEO of the Sisters of Charity Health System, recently hosted a series of presentations on the state of the Sisters of Charity Health System. Hundreds of board members, leaders, caregivers, employees and friends of the health system and its ministries participated in the events, which were held in Cleveland and Canton, Ohio, and Columbia, South Carolina. As featured in a 5-minute video, the presentations highlighted the collective accomplishments in the past year of the health system and its family of ministries, which includes five acute care Catholic hospitals, two elder care facilities, three grantmaking foundations and six outreach organizations. Sisters of Charity Health System Announces Leadership Transition

The Sisters of Charity of St. Augustine, which is the founding religious community of the Sisters of Charity Health System, recently elected Sister Judith Ann Karam, CSA to the position of congregational leader. Sister Judith Ann has announced her resignation as the Sisters of Charity Health System’s president and CEO, effective July 26. In light of her role as congregational leader, Sister Judith Ann will assume the role of chair of the Public Juridic Person of Pontifical Right (PJP) of the Sisters of Charity Health System. The PJP is the health system’s Catholic sponsor. Sister Judith Ann will also serve as a member of the Sisters of Charity Health System Board of Directors. Additionally, she will continue her participation on the Catholic Health Association of the United States of America Board of Directors, among many other national and local health and human service leadership commitments. Friend-Ship Center steps up with help from ECRC

For Friend-Ship Center Director Sue Neading and her staff, the Early Childhood Resource Center (ECRC) has been a valuable resource since both centers opened in 2000. The Friend-Ship Center fills an important gap on Canton’s south side, providing pre-school and child care to 125 young children, before- and after-school care for children to age 12, and a full summer program.The ECRC provides the Friend-Ship Center with a variety of staff training and use of the ECRC Production Lab, and helps the center implement the latest best practices in early childhood education.
