A Father's Place fatherhood program announces expansion into eight additional South Carolina counties

The South Carolina Center for Fathers and Family (SCCFF) has announced that its primary partner on the coast, A Father’s Place, Inc. (AFP), will be expanding its responsible fatherhood programs into eight additional counties in the Lowcountry beginning in early October.

With full service offices in Georgetown and Conway, along with a satellite office in Myrtle Beach, A Father’s Place will begin to serve fathers in Allendale, Beaufort, Berkeley, Charleston, Colleton, Dorchester, Hampton, and Jasper counties in October. AFP is currently securing administrative and training space and is adding additional staff for this new work.

A Father’s Place offers fatherhood educational programs that foster a holistic approach to encourage responsible fatherhood. The on-site programs include Healthy Relationships, Parenting, Economic Mobility, Healthy Fathers – Healthy Families, Employment Boot Camp, and Housing 2 Home Ownership. Enrollees attend group sessions, training programs, and one-on-one mentoring sessions with fatherhood staff. Additionally, AFP works with fathers on issues related to child support, visitation, family court, and much more.

“A Father’s Place has long been dedicated to promoting responsible fatherhood and providing vital support to dads across our communities,” said Wallace Evans, Jr., CEO of A Father's Place. “Today, we are excited to announce a new chapter in our journey that will amplify our efforts and extend our reach. I am excited to see us embrace this journey with enthusiasm, determination, and a shared vision. Together, we will make a difference that has a lasting impact on fathers and families, creating a stronger foundation for a brighter future.”

The South Carolina Center for Fathers and Families is fully committed to supporting the efforts to serve more dads better in the Lowcountry through its increased partnership with a trusted leader and a proven organization.

Karriem Edwards, president of SCCFF, commented, “Many more dads in the Lowcountry will now have access to essential programs, jobs training, and a committed staff that will be there when they need help.”
