Momentum at the St. Vincent Charity Health & Healing Hub continues to build, especially with Goodwill's recent launch of a $40 million campaign to build a 60,000–80,000 sq. ft. Opportunity Center on the Hub in Cleveland's Central neighborhood. Through a partnership with Goodwill Industries of Greater Cleveland and East Central Ohio, Inc., the Center will be a one-stop hub for employment services, career programming, groceries, nonprofit partners, and more.…
We mourn the loss of one of our leaders, Sr. Mary Jacob Yelcho, CSA, and a beloved Sister of the Sisters of Charity of St. Augustine. Sr. Mary Jaocb Yelcho was called home to eternal rest on May 28, 2026. For 24 years, she served at Providence Hospital in Columbia, South Carolina, as its president/executive director from 1967 until 1991, leading with with steadfast courage, dedication to her staff, and a profound commitment to the community. Her friendship, humor and kind soul will be deeply missed.…

The Sisters of Charity Foundation of Canton recently released its 2025 annual report, which highlights $3,495,131 in grants distributed in Stark and surrounding counties to more than 50 organizations in three strategic areas: responsive efforts, strategic collaborations and foundation-led initiatives. Marking 30 years in 2026, the foundation has distributed nearly $88 million to organizations reflecting its commitment to uplift the poor and underserved.…

The Sisters of Charity Health System has announced a $3 million funding commitment to support the development of a Behavioral Health Crisis Center (BHCC) led by The Centers. The funding announcement marks a landmark investment in the behavioral health infrastructure of Cuyahoga County and a commitment to create a crisis receiving and stabilization center in Cleveland’s Central neighborhood to support individuals experiencing a mental health and/or addiction emergency.…
Joseph & Mary’s Home supporters came together on March 19 to celebrate the Feast of St. Joseph, foster father of Jesus and husband of Mary. Mass was celebrated in the Holy Family Chapel at fellow Sisters of Charity Health System ministry Regina Health Center. Deacon Mark Yantek, executive director of Regina Health Center, delivered the homily. “Just like St. Joseph said yes to doing God’s will, the Sisters of Charity of St. Augustine said yes to God when they established Joseph & Mary’s Home,” he said. “They knew God was calling them to fulfill a need.”…
Joseph & Mary’s Home announced that Anna Stormer has been named its next executive director. She began her role on Tuesday, March 10. Stormer will oversee strategy, operations and program excellence at Joseph & Mary’s Home, a medical respite for men and women experiencing both homelessness and acute health challenges. Her focus will be on ensuring vulnerable neighbors have a safe place to recover, stabilize their health and move forward with dignity.…

Regina Health Center has once again earned the highest rating in the federal Five-Star Quality Rating System of nursing homes from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). The five-star level signifies “much above average” quality and is the highest rating a nursing home can achieve. Regina Health Center also received a five-star rating in health inspections.…
The Sisters of Charity of St. Augustine, who are celebrating their 175th year of service to the diocese, received the Bishop Roger Gries Heart of a Servant Award at the First Friday Club of Cleveland’s 68th Anniversary Bishop’s Luncheon on February 5. The award recognizes a specific effort or cumulative efforts over the years to broaden, enhance, educate and connect the Catholic community of Greater Cleveland.…
The Sisters of Charity Foundation of Cleveland announced the official restart of its philanthropic operations following a strategic pause in operations that began at the end of 2024 as leadership transitions happened at the Foundation and the Sisters of Charity Health System. With a heavy heart, we share the sad news that Sister Miriam Erb, CSA, vice president of Mission & Ministry at the St. Vincent Charity Health & Healing Hub, passed into the loving arms of the Lord on December 27. She entered the Sisters of Charity of St. Augustine on August 30, 1957, and professed final vows on August 22, 1965. For nearly 70 years, she embodied the charism of her religious community and was a radiant example of God’s loving spirit. A true beacon of hope, justice and love, Sr. Miriam’s joyful spirit illuminated every community she served with the light of God’s mercy and grace.…

Reporter Julie Washington interviewed Ken, a Joseph's Home alumnus, to illustrate the services and support offered to the men and women who rest, recover and are renewed at the ministry. The story also explained the not one, but two successful capital campaigns that allowed for the creation of Mary's Home and the relocation and renovation of Joseph's Home.…
