Individuals

Your support makes a difference, no matter how much or how little you can give.

When you give to our ministries, you pool resources with other caring neighbors in your community. Your collective effort is more powerful than you might think.

Gifts from individual donors are normally unrestricted (not designated for a specific use). They enable us to pay the operating expenses of our ministries. Your contributions keep the programs running! Plus, these unrestricted gifts give our ministries the flexibility to respond to the changing needs of our communities.

GIFTS OF CASH

Gifts of cash can be made by check, money order or credit card. You can give a one-time gift or set up a recurring gift on our secure website or by mail using this downloadable form. All gifts are tax-deductible to the full extent of the law. Each ministry will provide you with a receipt.

TRIBUTE GIFTS

You can give in honor or memory of a loved one on our secure website or by mail using this downloadable form. Please make sure to indicate the party we should notify about your gift, and provide us with their contact information. We never reveal the amount of your gift.

RECURRING GIFTS

You can set up a new recurring credit card gift on our secure website or by mail using this downloadable form. Simply indicate the desired frequency (monthly or quarterly). If you have any questions, contact Nathan Munn at 216.875.4634 or nmunn@sistersofcharityhealth.org.

EMPLOYER GIVING PROGRAMS

Many employers encourage their employees’ charitable giving and/or volunteer service by matching their gifts and/or making grants to honor contributions of time such as board service or volunteering. These programs can significantly multiply the impact of your gift.

Securing a matching gift typically involves filling out your company’s matching gift request form and sending it to us along with your gift. We submit the form to your employer.

To find out if your company will match gifts, check with your employer. Contact Nathan Munn at 216.875.4634 or nmunn@sistersofcharityhealth.org if you have any questions about a matching gift to one of our ministries.

GIFTS OF SECURITIES OR REAL ESTATE

Gifts of appreciated property, such as securities or real estate, can provide even greater tax benefits to you than an equivalent gift in cash, especially when the appreciated property has been held for more than one year. Always consult your tax adviser before proceeding with a donation of property. Contact Nathan Munn at 216.875.4634 or nmunn@sistersofcharityhealth.org for help finding out if your donation of securities or real estate could benefit one of our ministries.

GIFTS OF TANGIBLE PERSONAL PROPERTY

When you donate a gift of tangible personal property — such as works of art, rare books or other items of value — you are generally entitled to a charitable tax deduction. For more information, or for help finding out if your donation of property could benefit one of our ministries, contact Nathan Munn at 216.875.4634 or nmunn@sistersofcharityhealth.org.

PLANNED GIFTS

Bequests, charitable gift annuities and charitable remainder trusts are just a few of the ways that you can plan now to leave a legacy. Planned giving instruments can be selected and crafted to suit your individual interests and needs (such as income creation and reduced tax liability). The ministries of the Sisters of Charity Health System can help you and your financial adviser to find the planned giving instruments that are right for you. Contact Nathan Munn at 216.875.4634 or nmunn@sistersofcharityhealth.org for help contacting the planned giving officer of the ministry you would like to benefit from your legacy gift.
