When being pulled in a million directions, how do you take the time to care for yourself? Engage! Cleveland is having a discussion with Jan Murphy, senior vice president of mission and ministry at the Sisters of Charity Health System, on July 24 from 8:30 - 11:00 a.m. to dive deeper into how to create greater balance by taking care of your body, mind and spirit while avoiding negative self-chatter, over-committing and body shaming.
Next Generation of Women Follow-Up: A Conversation with Jan Murphy follows Engage! Cleveland's 2nd annual Next Generation of Women event held March 28. Murphy spoke at the March 28 event, taking the stage by storm and filling the room with laughter and inspiration as the first speaker of that event.
The half-day program in March was designed to allow women professionals to connect with each other and seek guidance from women in leadership. It included five, 50-minute talks on subjects like authentic leadership and finances from Northeast Ohio female professionals.
Murphy joined the Sisters of Charity Health System in 2018 after 40 years at the Cleveland Clinic in many leadership roles. As the SVP of mission and ministry, she leads the integration of the philosophy and values of the Sisters of Charity of St. Augustine into the daily operations of the health system in all its operating units. Areas of responsibility include, mission formation, leadership development, sponsorship, ethics, pastoral care, palliative care and diversity inclusion for all ministries.
