Foundation accepting applications for leadership training programs

The Sisters of Charity Foundation of South Carolina is accepting applications until June 30, 2011, for two leadership programs geared towards leaders in the nonprofit sector.

Both programs, which aim to help nonprofit leaders in South Carolina take their skills to the next level, are part of the foundation’s Carolina Academy for Nonprofits, which offers workshops to nonprofit organizations.

The Nonprofit Leadership Development Program is for established nonprofit leaders who are recognized as proven leaders within their organization and community. This free program provides the opportunity to enhance personal leadership skills, knowledge and frameworks to lead nonprofit organizations in an ever-changing diverse society.

The Nonprofit Leadership Training Certificate Program, in partnership with Columbia College, is designed for nonprofit leaders who are recognized as having great potential and are ready to take their leadership to the next level. It is a college certificate program and, upon completion, participants will receive nine accredited college hours to be used towards a graduate degree. Tuition is paid for by the Sisters of Charity Foundation of South Carolina.

The Carolina Academy for Nonprofits works to leverage training and educational opportunities, as well as share best practices and lessons learned, of multiple nonprofit organizations in South Carolina. Along with the leadership training programs, workshops on a variety of topics are held throughout the year and are open to South Carolina nonprofits.

The Sisters of Charity Foundation of South Carolina is a ministry of the Sisters of Charity Health System.
