Sister Judith Ann Karam pens letter to Ohio's governor

The Center for Community Solutions in Ohio recently printed its "Dear Governor" special edition of Planning & Action and delivered it to gubernatorial candidates, as well as to members of the General Assembly. The publication features letters from Ohio residents who have an interest in seeing the state succeed and want to assist in making it a better place for all residents.

The letters highlight topics that are pervasive and important to Ohioans — education, job creation, health, housing and other quality-of-life issues. They’re about issues that affect everyone from the very young to the very old. They’re about leadership and new ideas. Some contain specific recommendations on how to improve Ohio’s health, social and economic conditions.

One of the letters was written by Sister Judith Ann Karam, CSA, president and CEO of the Sisters of Charity Health System and St. Vincent Charity Medical Center. Her letter focuses on the importance of urban medicine and place-based funding.
