Ask your U.S. representative to support the Palliative Care and Hospice Education and Training Act

The Palliative Care and Hospice Education and Training Act (PCHETA) was reintroduced in the House last week as HR 647. This bipartisan legislation, supported by the Sisters of Charity Health System and the Catholic Health Association of the United States, would establish education centers and career incentive awards to improve the training of doctors, nurses, physician assistants, social workers and other health professionals in palliative care. Tour of Good Cheer Brings Christmas Joy to Joseph’s Home

Dick Clough loves celebrating Christmas and the spirit of giving. He loves both so much he celebrates every year by giving away nearly 9,000 pieces of clothing, toys and gift cards to more than 1,500 adults and children through the Tour of Good Cheer. The Saturday before this Christmas, Clough, 85 volunteer “elves” and a fleet of four buses filled with the volunteers and gifts visited 10 facilities, including stops at St. Vincent Charity and Joseph’s Home. Regina Health Center undertakes major renewal project with generous donor support

Regina Health Center celebrated its 25th anniversary last year. The highlight of the anniversary celebrations was a gala event in September, where a $1 million matching gift initiative was announced to raise funds for a 25th anniversary renovation campaign. With the help of generous donors, Regina Health Center kicked off the renovation project in early January to update and beautify all resident rooms and resident gathering spaces in the nursing home portion of the facility.
