Tell Ohio legislators to oppose Medicaid expansion freeze vote

Ohio’s Medicaid expansion is working. It has transformed lives of more than 1.2 million people over the last four years, helping hundreds of thousands of Ohioans get back to work. The Ohio General Assembly is likely to come back after Christmas to override vetoes by Gov. John Kasich. Sisters of Charity Foundation of Cleveland and partners supporting national pilot to track youth homelessness data

The Sisters of Charity Foundation of Cleveland (SOCF) and its partners at A Place 4 Me and FrontLine Service are supporting a new pilot effort to track youth homelessness data across the United States. Launched December 1, the pilot includes a dozen communities nationwide that the U.S. Interagency Council on Homelessness identified as leaders in the work to prevent and end youth homelessness.

The Women’s Choice Award® has named St. Vincent Charity Medical Center one of the top 22 hospitals in the country for orthopedics. The Women’s Choice Award recently published its full list of 357 of America’s best hospitals for orthopedics. Becker’s Spine Review drilled down into the list to identify the top 22 hospitals on the full list, which includes the top 11 percent of 3,230 U.S. hospitals offering orthopedics services. [More]

South Carolina Center for Fathers and Families hooks dads with Reel Connection campaign

To promote the importance of dads spending quality time with children, the South Carolina Center for Fathers and Families launched the Reel Connection campaign earlier this year. The prize was a once-in-a-lifetime fishing trip with former professional angler and board member Davy Hite, who is now a cohost and analyst for “Bassmaster LIVE” and “The Bassmasters” television show on ESPN2.

Sisters of Charity Foundation of South Carolina awards public policy impact grant to Institute for Child Success

The Sisters of Charity Foundation of South Carolina has awarded a public policy impact grant to the Institute for Child Success (ICS), an independent, nonpartisan, nonprofit research and policy organization dedicated to the success of all young children. Foundation funds will support ICS staff member's efforts to educate legislators and other policy staff on the importance of child advocacy centers and to also garner budget support. [More]
