Sisters of Charity Health System reserves space at Cleveland Medical Mart

On January 14, the Cleveland Medical Mart and Convention Center held a groundbreaking ceremony to celebrate an important step toward becoming the first comprehensive marketplace to combine permanent showrooms, a Class-A exhibition hall and state-of-the-art conference facilities tailored to the needs of the medical marketplace. Foundation to Host Session for Nonprofits

The Sisters of Charity Foundation of South Carolina will host a Tools for Thriving in Challenging Times nonprofit session on Wednesday, January 26 from 9:30 a.m. to noon at the South Carolina Archives and History Center. The event is open to South Carolina nonprofits. This is the first in a series of sessions that will be offered in 2011 as the Sisters of Charity Foundation of South Carolina celebrates fifteen years in philanthropy. Providence Hospitals Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation celebrates 25th Anniversary

Providence Heart & Vascular Institute celebrated the 25th anniversary of its cardiovascular rehabilitation program with the grand opening of a new center.  The improved Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation facility, located in PMOB 3 Suite 220 at 1655 Bernardin Avenue, has been furnished with state-of-the-art exercise equipment, including new stair masters, treadmills, stationary bicycles, elliptical trainers and rowing machines.  The space also includes a multi-station weight machine and flat screen televisions.  More...

Sr. Cabrini Ferritto honored for her heritage

Sr. Cabrini Ferritto, CSA was recently honored October 5, 2009 at a ceremony held by the City of Cleveland's Italian American Heritage Committee. Sr. Cabrini's story starts in the Blue Rock neighborhood on Cleveland's east side where she was born on April 26, 1932, the daughter of immigrants from Italy's Abruzzo region. Sr. Cabrini entered the Sisters of Charity of St. Augustine (CSA) in 1950. She has served as a teacher and principal in schools across Cleveland, as well as an incredible number of leadership positions within her community and the church. She served 16 years on the CSA Leadership Board of the Sisters of Charity Health System, director of Regina Health Center and Cornerstone Housing and on the board of the National Association of Treasurers of Religious Institutes. Sr. Cabrini has given her life to serving God, her church and her community. When CSA set up a new governance structure in 2007, Sr. Cabrini was one of only three named to share ultimate decision making authority. She is known and respected as a tireless worker who gets things done and makes a real difference. Congratulations, Sr. Cabrini!

Immaculate Heart of Mary Knights of Columbus Honored by AOPHA for outstanding group volunteer work

(Columbus, Ohio) – The Immaculate Heart of Mary Knights of Columbus of Cuyahoga Falls Council 13517 was honored by AOPHA, the advocate of not-for-profit services for older Ohioans, with the Volunteer Service - Group Award for its service with Regina Health Center located in Richfield, Ohio.  The award was presented on August 26th during the AOPHA 2009 Annual Conference and Trade Show.
