Catholic Community Connection summer fellows gaining valuable work experience at Catholic ministries

Catholic Community Connection launched its 3rd annual Summer Fellows Program earlier this summer. The program is a 10-week internship that offers students from Catholic colleges real-world, paid work experience at Catholic ministries throughout Northeast Ohio. This competitive fellowship prepares students mentally, professionally and spiritually as they make decisions regarding their future careers and post-graduate work. Each student has been paired with a mentor associated with the organization to help the student learn more about the organization’s mission. [More]

Global Sisters Report highlights anti-poverty work of foundation's The Innovation Mission

Through The Innovation Mission, the Sisters of Charity Foundation of Cleveland helped encourage and develop innovative ideas aimed at breaking down specific barriers faced by low-income families through five fellows. Sisters of Charity Health System CEO Thomas Strauss to Lead Mercy Medical Center as Paul Hiltz Accepts New Role

The Sisters of Charity Health System today announced President & CEO Thomas J. Strauss will take on the additional role of interim CEO of Mercy Medical Center, one of the health system’s two Catholic hospitals in Ohio. Paul Hiltz, who has led Mercy Medical Center since 2017, has accepted a position with NCH Healthcare System, a two-hospital Mayo Clinic Care Network affiliate in Naples, Fla. [More]

Early Childhood Resource Center helping expand in-home child care centers

The city of Canton is trying to increase in-home child care centers and awarded the Early Childhood Resource Center a grant last year to fund training and licensing for in-home providers. The initiative helps people become employed with a business of their own while also helping families in their immediate area that need child care options.
