New Psychiatric Emergency Department Facility at St. Vincent Charity Hospital Now Open

In conjunction with a multi-million dollar renovation of its Emergency Department, St. Vincent Charity Hospital relocated its psychiatric emergency department to a newly renovated, adjacent space. The new facility opened May 13. Distinguished as one of only two of its kind in Ohio and one of only six in the country, the psychiatric emergency department provides a safety net for nearly 4,000 Northeast Ohioans in need of emergency behavioral health care services each year.

Catholic Health Association's President Invited to Speak at Prestigious City Club of Cleveland

On May 16, Sr. Carol Keehan, DC, president & CEO of Catholic Health Association (CHA), addressed an audience at the City Club in Cleveland. Sisters of Charity Health System (Health System) is part of the advocacy efforts to increase health access and change health care policy. The Health System partnered with city club to bring Sr. Carol to share CHA's vision for U.S. Health Care. Her trip was covered by the multple media sources. The hospital, outreach, eldercare and foundation ministries were present at the speach.

Early Childhood Resource Center in Canton to Host June 26 Fundraiser
“Destination Ohio” is the theme of the second annual fundraiser for the Early Childhood Resource Center (ECRC) in Canton, Ohio. The event is Thursday, June 26 at the Executive Event Center in Canton. Neil Zurcher, former host of the TV show “One Tank Trips” and respected travel author is a featured guest at this event that will promote Ohio tourism and support the ECRC. Light of Hearts Villa Hosts Humor for Healthy Lifestyle Event
Light of Hearts Villa hosted a special Humor for Healthy Lifestyle Event on May 9. The event featured Emmy Award winner, Scott Bruce, a nationally recognized comedian. The event was well attended by board members, donors, representatives of the Bedford community, and by residents as well.

Regina Health Center held Holy-in-One Golf Outing June 16

Regina Health Center was proud of its 9th annual Holy-In-One held on Monday, June 16, 2008 at Medina Country Club. This is Regina Health Center's largest fundraising event of the year. All of the proceeds support Regina's continued commitment to providing the highest quality of care to its residents. Regina expects the net proceeds this year to be approximately $89,000, which surpasses last years’ amount. They would like to take this opportunity to express their gratitude for all of the support they received from the many generous sponsors.

Regina Health Center Set to Celebrate 15th Anniversary on July 8 with Bishop Lennon
This summer, Regina Health Center will be celebrating its 15th anniversary with a special Mass. Bishop Richard Lennon will celebrate Liturgy on July 8th, the actual anniversary of the opening of Regina Health Center. In attendance will be donors, board members, Friends of Regina Health Center, and other special friends.
