Summary Providence Hospitals seek a Vice President of Mission and Ministry to provide leadership in the design, development and implementation of activities related to mission, core values, ethics, Catholic identity, and social justice. The VP of Mission ensures that the mission of Providence Hospitals and of the Sisters of Charity Health System, its sponsoring organization, is communicated effectively and integrated fully into the strategic direction and operations of the Hospitals. In collaboration with the CEO, this role creates an environment that integrates mission and ministry values throughout the hospital. This position is responsible for facilitating a climate conducive to the spiritual growth of patients, families and personnel associated with the hospital and promoting the development of healthy community partnerships. The VP of Mission reports directly to the CEO, is a member of the senior staff and oversees the Pastoral Care Department and the Diversity Initiative. Qualifications Three to five years' increasing responsibilities as a health care professional or administration of mission-related programs or services. Demonstrated ability in competencies for mission leaders, along with potential for development of competencies as needed. Education: Bachelor's degree Catholic Theology, Divinity, Spirituality, Religious Studies, Pastoral Counseling, or related field of ministry. Master's Degree preferred. Formal training in Ethics desirable. Thorough knowledge of the teachings, principles and traditions of the Catholic Church. Must be a practicing Roman Catholic. Demonstrated competence in collaborative processes, change management/culture change, group facilitation, verbal and written communication.
