Sister Judith Ann Karam, CSA, to be inducted into Ohio Hospital Association Hall of Fame

Sister Judith Ann Karam, CSA, congregational leader for the Sisters of Charity of St. Augustine and chair of the public juridic person for the Sisters of Charity Health System, will be inducted into the Ohio Hospital Association (OHA) Health Care Hall of Fame at the annual OHA recognition dinner June 5 in Columbus.

Held in conjunction with the OHA Annual Meeting June 4-6, the recognition dinner celebrates outstanding hospital caregivers and health care leaders statewide. OHA recently announced 62 nominees for Health Care Worker of the Year, three Health Care Leadership Award recipients and one OHA Health Care Hall of Fame inductee (Sister Judith Ann).

Ohio hospitals employ more than 250,000 committed individuals, and each year the OHA invites member hospitals and health systems to nominate one outstanding professional for Health Care Worker of the Year. The award was created in 1996 to honor hospital employees who demonstrate leadership, reflect the mission and values of their institutions, go above and beyond the call of duty and give back to the community.

In addition, OHA presents several leadership awards to individuals who have made significant contributions to the hospital industry and health care field in Ohio. The OHA Hall of Fame, created to commemorate the association’s centennial, honors men and women who have made extraordinary contributions to the delivery of health care for Ohioans.

Sister Judith Ann is a member of the Sisters of Charity of St. Augustine and has served as its congregational leader since July 2013. Previously, she served as the president and CEO of the Sisters of Charity Health System from 1998 to 2013.

The Sisters of Charity of St. Augustine is the founding religious community of the Sisters of Charity Health System.
