Mercy Medical Center honored by local chamber of commerce

The Massillon WestStark Chamber of Commerce recently hosted its 101st annual meeting, honoring its members and their business success and achievements. More than 300 chamber members and guests attended the event, which included honoring the small and large business of the year.

Mercy Medical Center was honored as the chamber’s large business of the year for its efforts to bring affordable and accessible health care to the community through the Mercy Health Center of Massillon. The 19,000-square-foot center opened last August and houses a STATCARE Immediate Care Center; laboratory services; imaging including mobile MRI, CT, mammography and ultrasound; and physical therapy.

The chamber also presented a number of other awards, including small business of the year to Daugherty Hair Co., as well as awarding grants to R.G. Drage Career Technical Center and Tuslaw Local Schools and Massillon City Schools based on business plans submitted by students of each school as part of the chamber’s business plan development program.

Mercy Medical Center is a ministry of the Sisters of Charity Health System.
