The Sisters of Charity Health System and the Sisters of Charity of St. Augustine are deeply saddened by the passing of former Congressman Steve LaTourette on Wednesday, August 3rd. We extend our deepest sympathies to the LaTourette family and our sisters’ prayers are with the family during this time of mourning.
Most importantly, we honor his legacy. Congressman LaTourette’s deep commitment to collaboration and desire to reach across the aisle led to many accomplishments during his career. His eighteen year career in Congress was marked by his ability to find common ground with his colleagues and his wonderful sense of humor.
Born in Cleveland, Congressman LaTourette never forgot his roots and vigorous fought for policies that would benefit the region. The Sisters of Charity Health System was blessed to work with the Congressman on critical public policies. As we remember Congressman LaTourette, we celebrate a life lived serving with compassion, courage and collaboration, and acting as a powerful voice for Northeast Ohio.
