South Carolina Center for Fathers and Families partners with Men's Wearhouse for suit drive

The South Carolina Center for Fathers and Families and Men's Wearhouse have again partnered to provide fathers in South Carolina with business attire donated through the National Suit Drive. Throughout July, the center is encouraging South Carolina residents to donate gently used professional attire at any Men’s Wearhouse location. Items being collected include men's and women's suits, shirts, jackets, ties, belts and shoes.

The business attire will help give a fresh start to fathers in the center’s programs still facing unemployment, giving them a chance to walk into a job interview and make a great first impression. As a thank you, donors will receive a coupon for 50 percent off the regular price of retail items for their next Men's Wearhouse purchase, as well as a tax receipt from the center. Last year, Men’s Wearhouse stores collected more than 219,749 items of professional clothing that were given to clients of job training and employment programs offered by approximately 170 nonprofit partner organizations across the country.

Many fatherhood participants join one of the center’s programs because they are unemployed and are in need of assistance. The center’s programs prepare the participants to re-enter the job market through job readiness boot camps and employment assistance. A suit gives fatherhood participants a professional look and provides them with an immediate morale boost for job interviews.

The South Carolina Center for Fathers and Families is a ministry of the Sisters of Charity Health System.
