Canton families experience spirit of Mercy Medical Center at Christmas open house

Patients, their families and other residents of Northeast Canton experienced an early Christmas celebration at a community open house in early December at Mercy Medical Center at St. Paul Square. Mercy Medical Center collaborated with community partners to offer families from the center’s surrounding neighborhoods a fun and festive afternoon focused on health and wellness during the holiday season.

Activities included a visit with Mrs. Claus, face painting, blood pressure screenings, dental screenings and oral health information, refreshments and winter wellness gift bags. The Mercy Development Foundation and sisters and associates of Humility of Mary helped greet and serve guests. The Elite Choir from Crenshaw Middle School and local flute players provided entertainment. Community Services of Stark County provided children’s wellness items.

“In the spirit of comprehensive care for the total wellbeing of our St. Paul Square patients, families and community residents, the staff and many collaborative partners shared time, talent and treasure to provide a Christmas and holiday celebration that offered something for everyone who attended,” said Sister Carolyn Capuano, HM, vice president of Mission and Ministry Services at Mercy Medical Center. “This will certainly become an annual event.”
