Celebrate women religious during National Catholic Sisters Week happening now through March 14. National Catholic Sisters Week is an annual celebration created to honor women religious. The week includes a series of events that instruct, enlighten and bring greater focus to the lives of women religious. It’s a chance to recognize all they have done and an opportunity to educate young women about women religious with the hope that more young women will choose to follow their example.
Groups around the country are holding prayer vigils, gatherings, bake sales, movie screening and more to celebrate. National Catholic Sisters Week is supported by a $3.3 million grant from the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation, is headquartered at St. Catherine University in St. Paul, Minn., and is held in conjunction with National Women’s History Month.
