2014 Harvest Ball raises funds for Mercy Dental Residency Endowment

Mercy Medical Center’s Mercy Service League held its 2014 Harvest Ball October 11 at the Canton Memorial Civic Center’s Auditorium. The event raised more than $291,000 to benefit the Mercy General Practice Dental Residency Endowment Fund.

Joe L. Carpenter, D.M.D., oral maxillofacial surgeon, current member of Mercy Medical Center’s board of directors and former founding chief of the section of dentistry for Mercy Medical Center, served as honorary medical staff chair, and Christine Ridgway and Tina Linz served as Mercy Service League co-chairs.

Themed “A Mod, Mod World,” this year’s Harvest Ball was an energetic evening of dining, dancing, fun and fellowship. The Harvest Ball is a highlight of Mercy Service League’s yearlong fundraising efforts and attracted more than 380 guests this year.

“Harvest Ball celebrates the continuing mission of Mercy Medical Center and contributes to the health of our community by supporting Mercy General Practice Dental Residency Endowment Fund,” Dr. Carpenter said. “I am grateful to everyone for their support of this event as Mercy strives to meet the community’s number one unmet health care need—comprehensive dental care.”

Major sponsors of the 2014 Harvest Ball included Altercare of Ohio, Inc.; Mercy Medical Center Medical Staff; Inpatient Medical Services, Inc.; BakerHostetler, LLP; Center for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery; Ohio Anesthesia Group, Inc. – Stark Division; Paul & Carol David Foundation; The Repository and About Magazine and Mix 94.1 & News-Talk 1480 WHBC.
