Sisters of Charity Foundation of Cleveland sponsors children’s activities in national park

The Sisters of Charity Foundation of Cleveland is sponsoring Get Up, Get Out and Go! This summer campaign offers free outdoor recreational activities and music for children ages 11 to 14 and their families. The programs will take place in locations along the Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath Trail in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park (CVNP).

The campaign kicks off June 23 with a free ride on the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad. During the ride, children and their families will have the opportunity to learn more about additional programs throughout the summer. The train will depart from the Rockside Boarding Station in Independence at 7:00 p.m. and return by 9:00 p.m.

The Get Up, Get Out and Go! campaign will offer new programs every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evening from June 23 through July 24 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at various locations throughout the CVNP, Cleveland Metroparks and Summit Metro Parks. The programs include night bike rides and hikes, scavenger hunts, fishing, sessions about animals of the valley and more. Reservations are suggested.
