Sisters of Charity Foundation of South Carolina announces 2014 leadership programs

The Sisters of Charity Foundation of South Carolina is now accepting applications for two programs developed for nonprofit leaders. The Nonprofit Leadership Training Certificate Program offers two options for participation and the Nonprofit Leadership Development Program is a five-month program for nonprofit leaders. Both courses are part of the foundation’s Carolina Academy, which also offers free workshops to nonprofit organizations.

Nonprofit Leadership Training Certificate Program
The certificate program is designed for nonprofit leaders who are recognized as having great potential and are ready to take their nonprofit leadership to the next level. Two options for participation are:

  • Courses may be taken for nine graduate level hours in partnership with Columbia College. Each participant is responsible for paying $300 per semester for three semesters (nine credit hours) for a total cost of $900. The foundation will pay the remaining balance each semester for a total cost of $1,500.
  • No program fees apply if courses are taken without graduate level credit.

The certificate program will run three consecutive semesters beginning August 2014 through August 2015. Upon completion, participants will receive a certificate in nonprofit leadership.

Nonprofit Leadership Development Program
The free Nonprofit Leadership Development Program (NLDP) is designed to reach a wide range of nonprofit leaders in organizations across South Carolina—to enhance personal and professional growth within nonprofit organizations.

This year, the NLDP offers a unique approach to examining a variety of classic management issues. Traditional leadership themes are explored through the lens of acclaimed films that are carefully selected to capture many universal human experiences. All learning opportunities are designed to specifically address the challenges nonprofit leaders face. The program meets one Thursday each month from August 2014 through December 2014.
