Sister Regina Kusnir from Light of Hearts Villa receives Excellence Award from Ohio Assisted Living Association

The Ohio Assisted Living Association recently awarded Sister Regina Kusnir, SC, Light of Hearts Villa’s director of pastoral and special ministries, with the 2013 Honoring Excellence Award. The Ohio Assisted Living Association annually honors individuals who have demonstrated outstanding vision, innovation, leadership, compassion, creativity, talent or effectiveness in their position.

Sister Regina’s dedication of caring for the elderly, sick and less fortunate led her to create Seton Safety Net, a food pantry service housed at Light of Hearts Villa that serves seniors in need of a helping hand. In nominating Sister Regina, Light of Hearts Villa Executive Director Elizabeth Hickle praised her as a true “quintessential Nun bringing a sense of respect and dignity for everyone.”

When asked about receiving this award, Sr. Regina responded, “God gives each of us awards all the time, it’s our responsibility to recognize them.  Everyone here pulls together; this is how the light of hearts shines among the residents at the Villa.”

Lighting the way for senior care, Light of Hearts Villa provides premier senior residential living services. We offer compassionate, faith-based, mission-driven and person-centered care that is individualized to meet the special needs of you and your loved ones. As the mission states: We are devoted to providing premier senior residential living and community outreach services. Through our faith-based values, we affirm the integrity of each person and encourage them on their journey of aging. Light of Hearts Villa is a co-sponsored ministry of the Sisters of Charity of Cincinnati and the Sisters of Charity Health System.
