Sisters of Charity Foundation of South Carolina elects 2013 officers for board of trustees and adds new board member

The Sisters of Charity Foundation of South Carolina recently elected 2013 officers for its board of trustees and added a new board member, Barbara Gourdine Clark.

The new board officers are:

  • Dee Dee Chewning, board chair, joined the foundation board in 2006 and has served as board secretary and vice-chair. She has a strong history with the Sisters of Charity Health System, serving as the founding executive director of Healthy Learners from 1992 until her retirement in 2005.
  • Craig Waites, vice chair, joined the board in 2008. He recently served as foundation board secretary.
  • Rick Mendoza, secretary, joined the foundation board in 2010.
  • Thomas P. Otis, treasurer, joined the board in 2007. He currently serves as foundation board treasurer and chair of the finance committee.

Before joining the foundation board, Barbara Gourdine Clark served on the foundation’s grants committee as a non-member in 2012. A retired educator, her interests have always been helping children and families develop a quality of life that leads to education, work ethics, and service and contributions to ones’ community.

The Sisters of Charity Foundation of South Carolina is a ministry of the Sisters of Charity Health System.
