2012 Harvest Ball raises $270,000 to renovate Mercy’s Department of Emergency Medicine

Mercy Service League held its 2012 Harvest Ball on Saturday, October 27 in the Canton Memorial Civic Center’s McKinley Room. Frank Kaeberlein, M.D., chairman of Mercy Medical Center’s Department of Emergency Medicine, served as honorary physician chair, and Michelle Johnson and Gail Moore served as Mercy Service League co-chairs. The event raised nearly $270,000 to benefit Mercy Emergency Department’s renovation and expansion project.

Themed “White Hot,” this year’s Harvest Ball was considered “an elegant yet relaxed evening of dining, dancing, fun and fellowship.” Harvest Ball is a highlight of Mercy Service League’s yearlong fundraising efforts.  To date, Mercy Service League’s fundraising for the hospital’s Emergency Department project has netted nearly $750,000.

“Harvest Ball celebrates the continuing mission of Mercy Medical Center and contributes to the hospital’s future by supporting the planned renovation and expansion of the emergency department,” Kaeberlein said. “I am grateful to everyone for their support of this critical project that will benefit our patients, their families and our community for years to come.”

Major sponsors of the 2012 Harvest Ball included Mercy Medical Center Medical Staff; Baker & Hostetler, LLP; Sisters of Charity Health System; Stark County Anesthesia, Inc.; Stark County Emergency Physicians; The Repository and About Magazine; Mix 94.1 & News-Talk 1480 WHBC ; Paul & Carol David Foundation and Ruhlin Company.  Many other businesses, organizations and individuals were also sponsors and underwriters of Harvest Ball 2012.

Save the date for next year’s signature fundraising event.  The 2013 Harvest Ball has been set for Saturday, October 12.
