The Sisters of Charity Health System has selected four nursing students as recipients of the annual Caritas Nursing Scholarships, with each scholarship in the amount of $2,500. The scholarship was established in recognition of Sr. Mary Patricia Barrett, CSA, for her role in leading the development of the Sisters of Charity Health System. The purpose of the scholarship is to enable employees of the Sisters of Charity of St. Augustine (CSA) sponsored entities and their family members the opportunity to become licensed nurses.
The four students receiving scholarships represent each of the three communities served by the Sisters of Charity Health System: Canton and Cleveland, Ohio, and South Carolina.
The recipients are:
- Kelly Ellam–Kelly works at St. John Medical Center and attends Cuyahoga Community College. She lives in Olmsted Township, Ohio.
- Jessica Feador–Jessica works at St. Vincent Charity Medical Center and attends the University of Akron. She lives in Richfield, Ohio.
- Alivia Greene–Alivia works at Mercy Medical Center and attends Walsh University. She lives in Canton, Ohio.
- Amerine Arnold–Amerine works at Providence Hospitals and attends Midlands Technical College. She lives in Batesburg, South Carolina.
