St. Vincent Charity Medical Center Employee Receives Promise of One Award

St. Vincent Charity Medical Center's Patricia Terstenyak, community outreach coordinator and co-chair of the Health Literacy Institute, has received the Susan G. Komen for the Cure® Northeast Ohio Affiliate Promise of One Award.

This award recognizes a volunteer who has been involved with Komen Northeast Ohio for at least one year and has made a significant contribution to the fulfillment of the Komen promise to save lives and end breast cancer forever by empowering people, ensuring quality care for all and energizing science to find the cures.

Terstenyak pioneered the Komen Community Representative Program, a group of volunteers who promote breast health in the community. Because of her efforts, the program has become one of the chapter’s most successful initiatives, educating almost 7,800 women just in the last year at health fairs, speaking engagements and fund-raising events.

St. Vincent Charity Medical Center is a ministry of Sisters of Charity Health System.
