Catholic Health Association celebrates 100 years

The Catholic Health Association of the United States (CHA), of which the Sisters of Charity Health System is a member, is celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2015. Originally named the Catholic Hospital Association, CHA was founded in 1915 as an organization through which Catholic health systems, hospitals, continuum-of-care facilities and the sponsors of these organizations could work together to achieve success that would not be possible working separately.

Sisters of Charity Foundation of South Carolina awards $80,950 to Caritas grantees

The Sisters of Charity Foundation of South Carolina has awarded $80,950 to 30 Caritas grantees in the last award cycle of 2014. The purpose of the Caritas Grants program is to provide support to organizations dealing with situational poverty or crisis poverty. The demand for food, clothing, shelter and free health programs, as well as other immediate needs, is expanding for organizations providing these services. Providence Hospitals receives top rating from Society of Thoracic Surgeons for 16th time in a row

The Society of Thoracic Surgeons (STS) has awarded its highest overall rating of three stars to Providence Hospitals for the 16th time in a row. Providence has now received the highest rating for every six-month reporting period since STS began giving the recognition with 2006 data. In the latest round, only 12 to 15 percent of hospitals participating received the three-star overall rating. [More]
