Providence Hospitals recently announced that it is the exclusive home of Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR) surgery in the Midlands of South Carolina. The intricate procedure is for those patients with aortic stenosis—who are at high risk for traditional aortic valve surgery—to have their constricted aortic valve replaced without opening the chest.
