Reading paves way to new bicycles in Cleveland Central Promise Neighborhood

A dozen first and second graders in Cleveland’s Central neighborhood have new bicycles to enjoy this summer thanks to a program called Read and Ride. The fundraiser offered attendees an upscale afternoon of shopping, wine tasting, silent and live auctions, and a high-energy fashion show, raising more than $250,000 to benefit Mercy Medical Center Women’s Cancer Services. Early Childhood Resource Center reaches out in at-risk neighborhoods

The mission of the Early Childhood Resource Center is to promote the healthy development of young children by strengthening families, improving the quality of early learning experiences, increasing school and community readiness, and informing public policy. Service league raises $185,000 for Mercy transformation project

At its annual membership banquet held recently in Canton, the Mercy Service League presented Mercy Medical Center with proceeds from the 2016 Harvest Ball, which totaled $185,000. Last year’s Harvest Ball benefitted Mercy’s facility transformation project to renovate the fifth floor orthopedic/observation unit. [More]
