St. Vincent Charity advanced hip replacement procedure featured in The Plain Dealer

St. Vincent Charity Medical Center and Bernard Stulberg, M.D., orthopedic surgeon, were recently featured in The Plain Dealer about the use of an active robot in hip replacement surgeries. Dr. Stulberg is the first in the United States to use technology that enables a surgeon-controlled robot to cut the bone to precise shape and position. It is expected to increase the accuracy of hip implant placement and improve long-term outcomes for patients. [More]

St. Vincent Charity Medical Center joins U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown in stand against ACA repeal bill

On Sunday, June 25, U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH) hosted a press conference at St. Vincent Charity Medical Center to stand against the Senate’s draft bill to repeal the Affordable Care Act. The repeal bill eliminates Medicaid expansion and includes additional cuts to Medicaid, a vital tool in addressing the opioid addiction crisis in Ohio. The press conference, which was attended by WKYC-TV, The Plain Dealer and WKSU, featured testimony from Senator Brown, Sister Judith Ann Karam CSA, congregational leader of the Sisters of Charity of St. Augustine, Dr. Ted Parran Jr., co-medical director of Rosary Hall and patient advocate Brittany Shartz, among others. Reading paves way to new bicycles in Cleveland Central Promise Neighborhood

A dozen first and second graders in Cleveland’s Central neighborhood have new bicycles to enjoy this summer thanks to a program called Read and Ride.
