Early Childhood Resource Center hosts “The Big, Big, Really Big Toy Box” event for families Sunday

The Early Childhood Resource Center (ECRC) is hosting an afternoon of family fun this Sunday (Sept. 27) from 2 to 6 p.m. at The Big, Big, REALLY BIG Toy Box fundraiser, which transforms the Canton Cultural Center for the Arts into a giant toy box. More than 85,000 people gathered July 2nd – 5th, at the Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) International Assembly in Atlanta. There, Sister Judith Ann Karam, CSA, accepted the 35 millionth copy of the Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous on behalf of the Sisters of Charity of St. Augustine in memory of Sister Ignatia Gavin, CSA, who was commonly referred to as the “angel of Alcoholics Anonymous.” The convention marked AA’s 80th anniversary. February 11 is World Day of the Sick, an observation introduced by Pope John Paul II in 1992 as a way for believers to offer prayers for those suffering from illnesses. The day coincides with the commemoration of Our Lady of Lourdes and is an opportunity for those who serve in Catholic health ministry to reflect on caring for those who are sick as well as those who provide care to them.
