Sister of Charity Health System and MetroHealth remind Clevelanders about deadline for Health Insurance Marketplace

Today, volunteers the Sister of Charity Health System visited lunch-time crowds at the historic Westside Market in Cleveland, Ohio, to help make sure people know about affordable health coverage through the Health Insurance Marketplace. The outreach effort was a last-minute push to raise awareness about the March 31 open enrollment deadline for coverage starting in 2014 through the Health Insurance Marketplace. At the Westside Market, the Sisters of Charity Health System volunteers were joined by friends from the MetroHealth System in handing out free bottles of water wrapped with information driving people to HealthCare.gov. Sisters of Charity Health System promotes four executives

The Sisters of Charity Health System has promoted four leaders in various departments within the health system, which oversees five Catholic hospitals, three grantmaking foundations, two elder care facilities and six outreach organizations in Ohio and South Carolina. Joseph Purton has been named vice president, controller; Robin J. Bachman has been named vice president of government affairs and public policy; James Assenmacher has been named vice president of strategy and business development; and Andrew Motz has been named vice president, chief procurement officer. Sign up with the Health Insurance Marketplace by February 15 have coverage March 1

According to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, since October 1 last year, millions of people have enrolled in new coverage under the health care law. They’ve signed up either for private insurance through the Health Insurance Marketplace or for the Medicaid program. There’s still time to enroll and have coverage as soon as March 1. All you have to do is sign up with the Health Insurance Marketplace by February 15. [More]

Each year, hundreds of thousands of families, individuals, children and seniors depend on the vital and often lifesaving services only available through Cuyahoga County’s Health and Human Service programs in Northeast Ohio. Campaign Launches to take Ohio Medicaid Insurance Extension to the Ballot

Today at the Ohio Statehouse, a coalition of Ohio citizens, community organizations, faith groups, hospitals, businesses, labor unions and others who support extending health care coverage to 275,000 uninsured Ohioans through Ohio’s Medicaid Insurance program launched the Healthy Ohioans Work campaign. The effort seeks to approve Medicaid extension as permitted and funded by federal law. [More]
